– Our Specialists:
Dr. Amos E. Madanes
One of the few board-certified reproductive endocrinologists in Illinois, Dr. Amos Madanes has helped infertile couples to conceive since 1979. As Director of Midwest Fertility Center since 1984, he uses the latest methods in the treatment of infertility to offer patients advanced fertility options with high success rates. Dr. Madanes earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Tel Aviv University in Israel. After completing specialty training at Tufts University in Boston, he underwent two additional years of reproductive endocrinology training at Harvard University School of Medicine and at Tufts.
Over the course of his career, Dr. Madanes has developed several revolutionary assisted-reproduction procedures and has come to be known as an innovator and leader in the field of reproductive endocrinology. In fact, the first pregnancy in the United States to result from a non-surgical intra-tubal insemination procedure was achieved by Dr. Madanes in December 1989. The incredible results of this technique brought new hope to couples, particularly those dealing with male-factor infertility.
Dr. Amos Madanes has also led the way in advocating a more holistic approach to patient care by recognizing the necessity of meeting both the physical and emotional needs of his patients. Under his direction, Midwest Fertility Center has expanded this area of practice through the introduction of new programs focused on improving the overall health of infertile couples.
Before becoming director of the Center, Dr. Madanes served as Chief of Gynecology in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mount Sinai Hospital in Chicago and as Director of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Loyola University in Maywood, Illinois. He is widely published and has authored numerous articles and textbook chapters exploring infertility and its treatment.
